About this expansion

Memoir ’44: Audie Murphy’s Campaign is a 2011 campaign for two players with an approximately 240-minute play time, following the wartime journey of the 3rd US Infantry Division.

Designed by Jacques “jdrommel” David, this campaign is dedicated to the GIs who did their duty during the darkest hours of World War II. Rather than focusing on one front or a single important general, it honors the soldiers who went “To Hell and Back.”

The 3rd US Infantry Division, known as the “Rock of the Marne,” was among the first American divisions engaged in the war. Its path took it through Sicily, the landings at Salerno and Anzio in Italy, southern France, the Vosges mountains, Alsace, and finally Germany near the Czech border.

The division endured heavy losses in violent battles, particularly in Italy and the Vosges. Among its bravest soldiers was Audie Murphy, who began the war as a private in the 15th US Infantry Regiment in 1943 and ended it in 1945 as a lieutenant with 38 medals, including the Medal of Honor.

For the complete campaign experience, the Terrain Pack and Eastern Front expansions are required. The Winter Board, Campaign Book, Pacific Theater, and Tigers in the Snow are recommended additions.
