About this board game

Micro Monsters is a 2–4 player dexterity game that takes about 30 minutes, challenging rival alien armies to a battle for the last open dimensional gate.

Four races of horribly cute micro-monsters clash: Autogators, Bigbears, Finbacks, and Turboturtles. Players use a monster shooter to press an edge of a monster token and send it flying across the playing area, in a flicking style reminiscent of Tiddly Winks.

Careful aiming can turn each jump into a decisive attack. If any part of your monster lands on an opponent’s monster, you capture that token and remove it from play. Landing on an opponent’s gate removes one of that player’s energy tokens; taking the final energy token flips the gate to its damaged side. Landing on a damaged gate eliminates that opponent from the game.

At the start of every turn, a die determines whether you take a normal monster move or activate your race’s special power:

  • Autogators: Move two separate monsters.
  • Bigbears: Move one monster, then place a trap on an opponent’s monster to immobilize it until the next Bigbears turn.
  • Finbacks: Move the same monster twice.
  • Turboturtles: Move one monster, then shield it from capture until your next turn.

Micro Monsters combines precise flicking with tactical choices and changing opportunities on the play area. Decide whether to target a rival monster, attack a gate, or use a special ability to gain an advantage.

The winner is the last player with an open gate, whether that gate is damaged or not. With four alien races and direct player interaction, every launch can bring an opponent closer to defeat—or send your own plans off course.
