About this board game
Migration is a 2–4 player board game with a 30-minute play time, released in 2014, in which players guide multiple anthropomorphic animals migrating to a new continent.
Players take turns placing an animal token on the board to represent a town. Each new town must originate from the last town placed, with certain exceptions, creating a connected sequence of decisions as the migration develops.
Every animal token has a unique ability, giving the game a high degree of strategy. Players must consider how to use these abilities while choosing where to establish towns and how to continue their movement across the board.
- For 2–4 players
- Approximately 30 minutes to play
- Animal tokens with unique abilities
- Town placement linked to the last town placed
- Points scored for each town on the board
The game ends when no player is able to make a legal move. Players then score points for every town on the board, and the player with the highest score wins.
Migration: Book II – A Saga of Conflict includes both Book I and a new Book II. This expanded version adds Age Cards, an optional drafting mechanism, a modular board, additional terrain modifiers, and six new explorer types, offering more elements to consider during play.
With its evolving town network, distinct animal abilities, and clear endgame scoring, Migration presents a focused strategic challenge centered on exploration and expansion.
