About this board game

Montana is a board game for 2–4 players, playable in about 45 minutes, set during the settlement of Montana in the mid-19th century.

Fortune seekers arrive with their caravans, looking for work and the chance to build a better future. Precious metals can be found in the mountains, while the fields require plenty of manpower. As settlements grow, so does the demand for goods.

Each turn, choose one of three actions to advance your plans:

• Recruit: Use the spinner to gain new workers.
• Work: Send workers to different locations to obtain resources or money.
• Build: Spend your resources to construct new settlements.

The workers you recruit help determine what you can accomplish, while your choices about gathering resources, earning money, and constructing settlements shape your route to victory. Delivering goods on time and selecting settlements tactically are important steps toward becoming the most successful builder.

Montana combines worker recruitment, resource collection, and settlement building in a focused race. Manage your available workers carefully, make the most of the region’s opportunities, and keep your construction plans moving forward.

The first player to build all of their settlements wins. Released in 2017, Montana offers a compact strategic challenge for groups of two to four players.
