About this board game

Moving Pictures is a cooperative storyboard game for 1–2 players that takes about 20 minutes to play. Together, you must turn a scrambled collection of numbered scene cards into a movie that makes sense—without speaking or signaling to each other.

Players take turns placing cards from their hands into the shared Timeline row, working toward getting all six scenes in the correct order. Every card also has an effect that can influence placement, move cards around, or occasionally give players a precious chance to share information.

Communication is limited to watching your partner’s choices closely. A card’s position, the timing of its play, and the way it interacts with the Timeline can all provide important clues, making each turn a quiet exercise in deduction and cooperation.

• Card effects: Use scene abilities that affect placement, swap cards, or reveal information.
• Three Acts: The Timeline grows with every Act, increasing the challenge.

A full game of Moving Pictures is played over three Acts, with each round becoming harder as more scenes join the Timeline. If a round would end with scenes out of order, you can spend one of your two Deleted Scenes to hide a card and avoid disaster.

Deleted Scenes do not refresh, so the team has only two chances to cover mistakes before the credits roll. Designed by Chris Klimowski, Moving Pictures offers a compact test of observation, timing, and silent teamwork.
