Mr. Jack: Extension is a 2007 expansion for Mr. Jack, designed for 2 players and offering a game length of about 30 minutes.
The expansion adds five new characters, each bringing a distinctive concept to the game. Two were selected from 137 ideas submitted in a design contest: Steve McKeogh’s Spring-Heeled Man and Arnaud Fillon’s Abberline.
- Spring-Heeled Man can jump over other people or obstacles.
- Abberline is an inspector.
- John Pizer is a butcher who frightens everyone.
- Joseph Lane is an anarchist who builds barricades.
- Madame can move fast, but will not enter the sewers.
These five characters were created by Steve McKeogh, Arnaud Fillon, Bruno Cathala, and Ludovic Maublanc. Their different abilities and roles provide new possibilities for games played with the Mr. Jack system.
Alongside the new characters, Mr. Jack: Extension includes rules for a new way to set up the game. This gives players an additional setup option when returning to the original game.
Released at Essen in 2007, this expansion is designed for players who already own Mr. Jack. It combines new character choices with an alternative setup, while retaining the concise 30-minute format and two-player focus.
