Museum: The People’s Choice

About this expansion

Museum: The People’s Choice is an expansion for 2–5 players that adds public acclaim and support for five-player games, with sessions lasting about 60 minutes.

A museum depends on the people who visit it, and this expansion turns public opinion into a new source of competition. At the beginning of the game, draw a People’s Choice card to reveal a shared objective for everyone at the table.

Players then compete to build the collection that best matches the chosen criterion. For example, the “B.C.” card rewards the player with the most cards dated B.C. The leading player takes the People’s Choice token and keeps it until another player creates a larger qualifying collection.

The player holding the token at the end of the game earns bonus points. With ten different People’s Choice cards, the competition can focus on a variety of collection goals, including dates, values, regions, and themes.

In addition to the new public-objective system, the expansion includes a Museum board and tokens for the base game, along with the elements needed to play each expansion with up to five players. This makes it a useful addition for groups that want to expand their player count.

The Kickstarter version also includes an additional Kickstarter-exclusive Discard tile. Released in 2019, Museum: The People’s Choice gives every collection a public standard to pursue while adding another way to earn points in Museum.
