About this expansion
Myrmes: Colony Tiles is an expansion for 2–4 players, with a play time of 90 minutes. Released in 2013, it adds four alternative colony tiles that can be used when advancing to a new colony level.
Each tile introduces a distinct option for developing your colony. The level I tiles focus on food, pheromones, and tunnels, while the level II and III tiles provide increasingly different ways to manage resources, warriors, larvae, and nurses.
- Level I: Use a worker action to exchange 1 food for 2 victory points, and treat mushrooms as food when placing a pheromone tile.
- Level I: Use a worker action to place or replace one tunnel without getting earth, and gain 1 virtual warrior per turn for stepping on enemy pheromones only.
- Level II: Use a worker action to avoid discarding excess cubes for that turn, and gain 1 virtual warrior per turn for hunting prey only.
- Level III: Use a worker action to get 2 larvae, and gain the possibility of placing 2 nurses on the objective atelier space.
These tiles provide alternative effects at different colony levels, letting the expansion add new possibilities to the available worker actions and colony development choices. Their abilities cover victory points, food, tunnels, enemy pheromones, prey, cubes, larvae, and nurses.
First published in Ystari magazine, issue 2, in October 2012, the expansion appeared alongside solo rules. Myrmes: Colony Tiles is a compact way to bring four clearly defined colony options to the game.
