About this expansion

Nemesis: Aftermath & Void Seeders is an expansion for 1–5 players, designed for about 180 minutes of play and released in 2019. It combines the Aftermath expansion with the Void Seeders expansion, adding the stretch goals from the Kickstarter campaign except for Medic.

The Voidseeders bring a very different threat to the ship. Instead of relying on a single nest, this race can create several nests while maintaining only one strong active presence at a time. Their influence spreads through whispers, fear, and insanity, making crew members question what they hear and what their companions may do next.

  • Multiple nests: Smaller nests appear as certain Exploration tokens are discovered, while the main Nest awakens a dangerous Stalker.
  • Insanity cards: Whisper tokens can trigger cards with effects ranging from one-time actions to permanent disabilities, depending on a character’s insanity level.
  • Distinct enemies: Voidlurkers spread insanity before fleeing to the nearest nest, while Whisperers defend the main nest and pose a greater physical threat.
  • Powerful guardians: The Stalker exploits crew fear and insanity, while the Despoiler emerges only when all required Insanity tokens are on the players.

Movement and event effects can require players to roll for whispers. Reaching a corridor where whispers already linger may force a draw from the Insanity deck, while ending a turn on a smaller nest can cause a serious wound. During the event phase, nearby Voidlurkers and Whisperers can increase a character’s insanity and add contamination.

Contamination cards are gained alongside insanity tokens and are easier to discard, but their consequences remain hidden until the end of the game. Even an escaped character may still lose if the contamination proves infected. With paranoia built into movement, combat, and cooperation, Nemesis: Aftermath & Void Seeders changes the atmosphere of the core game into a struggle against unseen voices and a growing loss of control.
