About this board game
Nemeton is a board game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 75 minutes, in which druids race to save a forest suffering under a vile curse.
Across ten moons, players explore the woodland, grow sacred plant essences, create potions, and summon animal spirits. Their goal is to earn the most reputation points while helping heal the forest and becoming its protector.
Every turn follows four phases: night, dawn, day, and dusk. At night, a player adds a Forest tile to the growing woodland on its Moon side, then checks whether it forms a straight line with another Forest tile of the same type. If it does, resources are placed on the activated tiles.
- Dawn: Turn the newly placed Forest tile to its Day side and discover possible paths to an Oak, spring, or Nemeton.
- Day: Move the druid to gather resources, create potions near a Nemeton, or earn the trust of animals.
- Dusk: Claim completed goals after performing virtuous deeds, gaining resources and potential bonus points.
Movement offers meaningful choices. Druids can use powers to take winding routes or gain a boost when moving in a straight line. They may also rest to recover movement power or take a triskel for additional end-game points.
The archangel plant can transform a druid into a crow, allowing a flight to any Oak tile. Animal spirits provide special powers for a special move, such as swapping a resource or finding a shortcut.
When the ten Forest tiles have been placed, players total reputation from potions, goals, animal streaks, and triskels. In Nemeton, the druid with the highest reputation becomes the forest’s protector.
