Newton: Extra City Tiles

About this expansion

Newton: Extra City Tiles is a 2023 release for 1–4 players, with a 90-minute play time. It adds seven new city tiles that bring more setup variability and combo possibilities to the map.

To set up, remove the Medicine City tiles and Medicine Income tiles from the game. Add the seven new City tiles to the base game City tiles, then randomly draw seven City tiles to use in the game.

Each new tile grants a permanent effect as soon as you place a cube on it. These effects reward different actions and can shape the way you develop your board and pursue opportunities across the map.

• When you place a new Student on the Technology track, perform a level 2 Technology action.
• When you play a Master Card, perform a level 1 Lessons action.
• When you place a Development Tile on your desk, gain 3 coins.
• When you perform a Travel action, receive a one-time discount of 1 coin when passing through routes with a cost.
• As a quick action, pay 3 coins to add 2 to the value of the Basic Action you are performing.
• During the end round phase, gain twice the lowest value active income on your Study board.
• When you place a piece of your color on an Objective tile, gain 4 VP.

Because only seven City tiles are randomly selected for use, each game can present a different combination of permanent bonuses. Newton: Extra City Tiles gives players additional ways to connect actions, resources, travel, income, and objectives while preserving the variable map setup of the base game.
