About this board game

Nirvana is a 20-minute roll-and-write and card-shedding game for 2–6 players, combining dice manipulation with a race to get rid of every card in your hand.

Each round begins with a player rolling three dice. Everyone writes the rolled values in a colored area on their board, using a limited ability to adjust the dice results when needed. Once the writing is complete, players add the values in columns as shown on their sheet to determine the ranks of the cards in their hands.

The game then shifts into a shedding contest based on the traditional Daifugō structure. The starting player plays one or more cards of the same rank. In turn, the other players must either pass or play the same number of cards with a higher rank.

• Roll three dice and record the results.
• Use limited adjustments to influence your values.
• Sum columns to create the ranks in your hand.
• Play matching sets or pass in the Daifugō-style card game.

Timing and flexibility matter as you decide when to use your adjustments and how to manage the ranks you create. The first player to play all of their cards wins, achieving liberation before the other players.

This re-implementation of Roll Write Daifugō features an all-new design and a card expansion that changes the rules each time you play. As a result, Nirvana pairs a familiar shedding-game foundation with varied rules across plays, while keeping its central challenge clear: roll, write, calculate, and shed your cards first.
