Oathsworn: Into the Deepwood is a narrative adventure game for 1–4 players, with sessions lasting about 90 minutes. Set in the Deepwood, it follows a Free company known as the Oathsworn as they fight for humanity’s survival against unnatural horrors and the Deepwood itself.

Each session combines story and combat through a multi-path game book. Players make narrative choices as the story unfolds toward an inevitable encounter, creating a journey shaped by branching paths before the action moves to the encounter board.

Encounters are multi-phase, scripted boss fights featuring AI-driven monsters and enemies. Players must outwit and outplay their opponents, responding to changing challenges as they work through the battle and attempt to survive the horrors of the Deepwood.

• Push-your-luck combat: Exploding dice let players hit harder, but each attack brings the possibility of missing.
• Battleflow: A euro-style cooldown system adds another layer of timing and decision-making during fights.
• Legacy progression: Across the campaign, the group gains levels, finds loot, and gains new allies for the journey.

This combination of narrative choices, rich miniature combat encounters, and evolving campaign progression gives Oathsworn a distinct rhythm from session to session. Players must balance immediate risks in battle with the longer-term development of their group as the story continues.
