Oh Crab!

About this board game

Oh, Crab! is a race game for 2–5 players that takes about 60 minutes, challenging players to guide escaped crabs across a beach and into the safe waves of the sea.

Every game presents a new challenge through a modular, two-sided board. Along the route, crabs must contend with sandcastles, rubbish, voracious gulls, and other crabs clumsily heading toward the water. The first crab to reach the safe waters wins.

Each round, players secretly play one card from their hand face down. On their turn, they reveal it and carry out the actions and movement shown. Cards played in later rounds can be chained by matching the halves of icons on their sides, creating opportunities for additional movement or for gaining shells.

• Manage obstacles that can force you to discard cards.

Movement is not always safe. If a crab moves or is pushed into an obstacle, its player must discard cards from their hand. This can leave the crab unable to continue effectively and may force a turn spent resting.

Resting lets players retrieve all their cards and gain one new card, adding further special actions and more possibilities for chaining. In Oh, Crab!, careful hand management and well-timed movement can make the difference between getting caught on the beach and reaching the waves first.
