Orichalcum

About this board game

Orichalcum is a fast-paced strategy game for 2–4 players, played in about 60 minutes. Inspired by a short 4X experience, it challenges each player to explore and develop their own island while racing toward victory.

On every turn, choose a combination of one Exploration tile and one Action. This simple decision opens several strategic paths as you expand your island, gather resources, construct powerful buildings, and deal with the monsters that stand in your way.

• Recruit hoplites to strengthen your island’s forces.
• Produce precious orichalcum, the legendary metal of Greek mythology.
• Construct buildings that provide powerful bonuses.
• Fight monsters infesting your island and preventing new construction.

Victory comes from pursuing several different achievements. Erect majestic temples, forge orichalcum tokens, or win the favor of the titans by creating areas made up of their favorite landscapes. Choosing when to develop, produce, recruit, build, or clear monsters is central to making the most of each turn.

Monsters are more than a threat: while they remain on your island, they prevent you from constructing new buildings. Clearing them is therefore essential, especially when you are trying to develop a strong engine of bonuses and reach your final objectives.

In Orichalcum, the first player to reach 5 victory points while clearing their island of all monsters wins the game. With its compact play time, island boards, tile exploration, and varied routes to victory, it offers a tense strategy contest for 2–4 players.
