Ostia: Mariner Edition is a 1–4 player strategy game with an approximately 120-minute play time, combining mancala-driven resource management and action selection with a race across the sea routes of ancient Rome.

The Mariner Edition improves playability without altering the gameplay. Updated reference cards explain turn steps, available actions, game-end conditions, and scoring, while revised iconography makes immediate and endgame benefits easier to understand.

Further refinements include a clearer mainboard, updated Asset boards, improved Order cards, and a redesigned Free Action icon with an on-board reminder. An improved scorepad presents scoring criteria more clearly, helping players track their progress throughout the game.

Ostia: Mariner Edition does not include the Pirates Expansion or other material not listed above. It also does not include double-layer boards. With its streamlined presentation and bundled content, this edition offers a thoughtful, smoother way to experience Ostia’s maritime strategy.
