About this board game

Outrun the Bear is a 2–6-player card-management race that takes about 45 minutes to play. Start at the campsite and race toward the parking lot, where the safety of the car awaits—while a bear closes in behind you.

Each round, choose your cards carefully as you try to make progress and keep yourself out of danger. You can play cards to help your friends or sabotage them, but every choice may affect who the bear pursues when the round ends.

The game combines a tense race with hand and card management. Your available options include:

• Action cards to influence the race.
• Reaction cards to respond to what happens around you.
• Equipment cards to support your escape.

Outrun the Bear is not simply about being fast. Sometimes the best way to survive is to make sure another runner remains between you and the bear. Help a friend when it benefits you, hinder a rival when the moment is right, and weigh every card against the danger waiting at the end of the round.

The game ends once every runner has either reached the parking lot or been eaten by the bear. With up to five friends joining you, the race can become a shifting struggle of cooperation, betrayal, and careful card play. Released in 2023, Outrun the Bear challenges you to reach the car before the bear catches you—and to ensure you are not the slowest runner on the trail.
