About this board game
Patchistory is a strategy board game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 120 minutes, in which players build a personal history across three eras.
Historical cards represent memorable heroes and monumental wonders. Players acquire these cards through auctions, then place them in an overlapping layout that expands as the game progresses: a 5×5 space in the first era, a 6×6 space in the second, and a 7×7 space in the third.
Your developing land is more than a display of historical cards. When its layout is well built, the functions on those cards are activated, creating opportunities to combine effects and develop powerful scoring strategies. Each decision about which cards to acquire and where to place them can shape the future of your civilization.
- Three historical eras: Grow your layout from 5×5 to 6×6 and finally 7×7.
- Card auctions: Compete to acquire historical heroes and wonders.
- Overlapping construction: Arrange cards to create your own evolving history.
- Multiple scoring paths: Gain victory points through diplomacy, domestic politics, war movement, and production.
Patchistory offers varied routes to victory and plenty of room for card combinations. Because historical cards can produce different functions and effects, the best approach can change from one game to the next.
By the end of the third era, the player with the highest score wins. With auctions, spatial planning, activated card functions, and diverse ways to earn points, Patchistory creates a fresh strategic challenge whenever it reaches the table.
