About this board game

Patrol: Lost! is a public-domain board game for 1–2 players, playable in about 30 minutes. One player controls the Good Guys, while the other commands the Bad Guys, with each side pursuing a different objective.

The game builds its board as play progresses. Players place and remove hexagon tiles, creating a changing playing area for their pawns. The evolving board is central to the experience, as movement takes place across the tiles while the opposing sides work toward their goals.

  • For 1–2 players
  • Approximately 30 minutes of play
  • A board assembled and altered with hexagon tiles
  • Movement, pursuit, and combat between opposing pawns
  • Combat resolved with D6 rolls and modifiers

The Good Guys try to move their pawns to the End tile. The Bad Guys aim to eliminate the opposing pawns before they can get there, creating a direct contest between reaching the destination and stopping the advance.

When pawns fight, combat is resolved by rolling D6s, with modifiers applied to the results. This gives confrontations a straightforward dice-driven resolution while keeping the two sides focused on their distinct objectives.

Patrol: Lost! has specified rules and components but no required theme. As a public-domain game, it has inspired numerous skins and thematic versions. It can also be played solo if desired, offering a way to experience its changing board, movement, and combat without a second player.
