About this board game

Project: ELITE is a cooperative real-time tactical board game for 1–4 players, with games lasting around 30 minutes. Set in a post-apocalyptic world invaded by an alien civilization, it casts players as members of the special-ops team known as ELITE.

Players are sent on high-priority missions to protect objectives and defend vital targets. Across the game board, the team moves, shoots, and cuts through waves of aliens while working to complete the objectives required for victory.

Each scenario is played through a number of intense two-minute real-time rounds. During these rounds, players roll dice with symbols as quickly as possible, using the results to perform different actions with their characters. These rounds are separated by an AI Alien Phase, when the invaders use their abilities, advance toward their goal, and receive reinforcements.

  • Cooperative play: Work together as a special-ops team against the alien invasion.
  • Speed-dice action: Roll rapidly to move and fight during real-time rounds.
  • Tactical objectives: Protect vital targets and complete mission goals.
  • Alien movement: The unique Alien Move symbol forces an alien toward its goal whenever it appears.

The Alien Move symbol gives every roll an additional consequence. While players are focused on taking action, aliens are constantly being pushed toward their objectives, creating pressure that must be managed alongside combat and movement.

With friend and foe in constant motion, Project: ELITE combines real-time speed, tactical decisions, cooperative play, and a tower-defense-like struggle against advancing enemies. Released in 2016, it challenges players to act quickly and keep the invasion from overwhelming their mission.
