About this board game

Q•bitz is a pattern-building race for 2–4 players that takes about 25 minutes to play. Using specially colored blocks, players compete to recreate designs, claim Q•bitz cards, and finish with the largest collection.

Each game uses a deck of pattern cards, with players completing three sets of three distinct rounds. In the first round, a card is revealed and everyone races to assemble their blocks in the pattern shown. The first player to complete it claims the card.

The second round puts a different challenge on the blocks: players roll them like dice to find the images needed to recreate the revealed pattern. In the third round, everyone studies the card for ten seconds before attempting to rebuild the design from memory. A player can call for this round to end, and the card goes to whoever has successfully recreated more of the pattern than the other players.

• Pattern racing: Quickly build designs shown on the cards.
• Dice-style rolling: Roll the blocks to discover the images needed in the second round.
• Memory challenge: Study a pattern briefly, then recreate it without the card.
• Collection-based scoring: Claim cards throughout the game and compete to collect the most.

After all three sets of rounds are complete, the player who has claimed the most cards wins. The game includes 120 Q•bitz cards, four wooden trays, and four sets of 16 cubes, providing the components for its quick pattern-building contests.

With its changing mix of speed, rolling, and visual memory, Q•bitz offers a compact challenge for players who enjoy recreating patterns under pressure. It was released in 2009 and also has a 100-card expansion pack listed separately.
