About this board game
Qwixx is a quick-playing dice game for 2–5 players that takes about 15 minutes. Everyone participates on every turn, creating constant opportunities to cross off numbers and improve their score.
Each player has a scoresheet with four colored rows. The red and yellow rows run from 2 to 12, while the green and blue rows run from 12 down to 2. In every row, you may mark a number only when it is to the right of all numbers already marked there.
On the active player’s turn, six dice are rolled: two white dice and one die in each of the four row colors. All players may use the sum of the two white dice to mark a number in one of their rows. The active player then has another option: combining one white die with one colored die to mark a number in the matching colored row.
- Mark numbers in the correct order to build each colored row.
- Use the white-dice total to give every player an opportunity to act.
- As the active player, choose whether to use a colored-die combination.
- A missed opportunity while active means marking one of four penalty boxes.
Reaching an endpoint can also shut down a color. If you mark the 2 or 12 in a row and have at least five numbers marked in that row, you may mark its padlock symbol, locking that color for everyone else.
Qwixx ends immediately when a player marks all four penalty boxes or when a second color is locked. Players then total their points for each color and subtract five points for every marked penalty box. The highest final score wins.
