About this board game

Race to the Treasure! is a cooperative tile-laying game for 1–4 players that takes about 20 minutes to play. Together, players build a path from START to the treasure, collect three keys, and try to arrive before the Ogre does.

On each turn, a player draws one tile from the bag. The tile shows either a piece of path or a picture of the Ogre, creating a shared challenge as the group works toward its goal.

Players must first make a path to the three keys that open the treasure’s locks. After collecting the keys, they continue laying tiles to connect the path to the treasure itself.

• Cooperative play: Everyone discusses tile placement and works toward the same outcome.
• Tile laying: Build the route from START to the keys and then onward to the treasure.
• Ogre pressure: Each Ogre tile brings the Ogre closer, making the race more urgent.
• Accessible rules: The game does not require reading, so children as young as two can participate.

Race to the Treasure! keeps the rules simple while encouraging players to strategize and cooperate. Because everyone contributes to the path, the group either wins together by reaching the treasure or loses together when the Ogre gets there first.

With its shared objective and easy-to-understand tile drawing, the game offers a way for young children and their companions to take part in the same cooperative race.
