Railroad Tiles: Lakes Expansion is a strategic board game expansion for 1–4 players, with games lasting around 30 minutes. Build Lakes, place Ferries, and use Harbors to connect routes into powerful shared networks.

Lakes are more than scoring opportunities. When a route enters the lake side of a tile, it creates a Harbor. All routes connected to the same Lake through Harbors are connected to one another, allowing each Lake to function like a large Station.

Ferries add another layer of planning. At the end of each round, after checking the active Placement tokens and placing pawns, inspect each of your Lakes. If a Lake has more Harbors than Ferries, you may place one Ferry pawn for free on an empty Ferry pinpoint. Continue doing so until that Lake has an equal number of Ferries and Harbors.

• Build Lakes and place Ferries to score points.
• Use Harbors to connect routes around the same Lake.
• Gain free Ferry placements when Harbors outnumber Ferries.
• Complete expansion Objectives for additional challenges.

Each Ferry scores 1 point plus 1 point for every Ferry in the same Lake, up to a maximum of 3 Prestige points. These pawns have a lower scoring limit than other pawns, which can be worth up to 5 points each, but they are placed for free in addition to those supplied by the two Placement tokens.

Railroad Tiles: Lakes Expansion also introduces Objectives such as making Fishermen’s Island reachable by at least three Traveler pawns, or placing the Hydroelectric Plant within a closed Lake with no open sides. These goals encourage careful construction as your water network grows.
