About this board game

Renegade is an abstract-euro thematic deck-building game for 1–5 players, with games lasting about 90 minutes. Set in a dystopian Sapporo controlled by an artificial intelligence called Mother, it places you among the few people who escaped her neural harvests and retained their free will.

You are a new breed of Decker: a Renegade operating from the underground world of Susukino. Your objective is to hack into a network of five servers operated by one of four Super-Massive-Computers, or SMCs. Each SMC has its own AI and presents an increasingly complex challenge to overcome.

Once connected, you move across server partitions and fight to take control of the network. Use informational, destructive, deceptive, and cognitive attacks while surviving a series of Countermeasure events. Sparks and Guardians threaten to overrun the network, adding pressure to every operation.

• Choose from four SMCs, each with its own AI and rising complexity.
• Use a profile that grants your Decker a special ability.
• Build and improve your Command Deck with new command cards.
• Visit the underground Hack Shack to trade for tools, software, apparel, and information.

The Hack Shack is a dangerous trading hub filled with hit men, debt collectors, fixers, and dealers dealing in contraband from across Sapporo. As your deck grows more capable, so does your ability to navigate the network and challenge Mother’s control.

With its blend of hacking, evolving threats, server control, and deck-building, Renegade offers a richly themed battle against an oppressive artificial intelligence.
