About this board game

Rescue Polar Bears is a cooperative board game for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. Set in A.D. 2045, it challenges an international team to save homeless polar bears as the last area of land ice at the North Pole melts.

Each player selects a ship representing a nation and takes the role of its captain. Every ship has a different ability, and these abilities can be improved during the game. Players also begin with cards and can gain or use cards throughout the rescue effort.

On a captain’s turn, three action points can be used for tasks such as moving, delivering, and using cards. Success depends on cooperation: players must coordinate their actions and choose suitable card effects before the ice beneath the bears disappears.

The ice melts as time passes, either accidentally or step by step. When an ice tile melts, any polar bears on it may fall into the water, making careful planning and teamwork essential.

The game can end when all polar bears are saved, time is used up, or a polar bear falls into the water. Your group receives a score based on its performance, giving you a way to compare your rescue effort with friends and family.
