About this board game
Roll Through the Ages: The Bronze Age is a civilization-building dice game for 1–4 players that plays in about 45 minutes. Players roll dice to gather commodities and workers, then use those results to expand their civilizations and pursue victory.
Each turn centers on rolling dice, with the option to reroll up to twice unless a die comes up as a hazard. This creates a balance between seeking useful results and managing the risks that can affect your civilization. The dice provide the resources needed to shape your progress throughout the game.
Workers can be used to build infrastructure, supporting additional works, or to construct monuments that are worth points. At the same time, players gather commodities that allow their civilizations to develop. Choosing how to use these results is central to building an effective path through the game.
- Roll dice to obtain workers and commodities.
- Reroll dice up to twice, unless a hazard appears.
- Build infrastructure to support additional works.
- Construct monuments that contribute points.
- Develop your civilization using gathered commodities.
The game ends at the end of the round once a player has achieved all monuments or five developments. Players then count their points, and the civilization with the strongest result is declared the victor.
Although Roll Through the Ages: The Bronze Age takes its name from Through the Ages: A Story of Civilization, the two games have different styles and designers. Its compact dice-driven format offers a focused way for solo players or groups of up to four to guide a civilization through growth, construction, and development.
