About this board game
Rumble in the House is a bluffing and deduction game for 3–6 players, playable in about 20 minutes. In this family-friendly contest, twelve characters occupy separate rooms while players secretly own two characters each.
Your goal is to guide your characters through the house, keep your identities hidden, and earn points from the characters that survive longest. On your turn, you may move a character that is alone in a room into an adjacent room, or start a fight in a room containing at least two characters.
These fights are resolved simply: remove one character from the room and place it in a line with the other removed characters. As the house empties, players must read the situation, conceal their interests, and decide when to push a character out—or leave a group together for someone else to challenge.
The round ends when only one character remains inside the house. The scoring order rewards survival, but the first two characters removed score nothing:
- The first two characters removed are worth 0 points.
- The third through eleventh characters removed are worth 1–9 points.
- The character remaining in the house is worth 10 points.
Each player scores only their most valuable character for the round, making secret ownership and careful deduction essential. After three rounds, the player with the most points wins.
Released in 2011, Rumble in the House offers a compact blend of hidden information, bluffing, deduction, movement, and straightforward scoring. It also integrates with Rumble in the Dungeon.
