About this board game
Sea Scroll is a quick-playing set collection card game for 2–6 players, with games lasting around 15 minutes. Players guide schools of fish from the Reef—the central discard area—or from elsewhere into their personal Habitat, where they form sets of matching fish cards.
Each school you create contributes to the final scoring challenge. The game rewards thoughtful collection and careful curation, as players work to gather fish while shaping the combinations in front of them. Its simple premise conceals a deceptively strategic contest over valuable species.
At the end of the game, every player combines the schools in their Habitat with the fish cards remaining in their hand. Each species is then evaluated to determine who collected the most of that type. The player with the largest collection of a species scores points equal to that fish’s value, while all other players lose points equal to its value.
- Players: 2–6
- Play time: approximately 15 minutes
- Core mechanics: set collection, fish schools, and species majority scoring
- Scoring twist: winning a species earns its value, while other players lose that value
This scoring system makes every species matter. Building the biggest school can bring a valuable reward, but failing to lead may turn the same fish into a penalty, creating tension as collections develop.
With its attractive fish theme, compact play time, and blend of collection and competition, Sea Scroll is designed for players who enjoy focused card games with meaningful scoring decisions. Collect, curate, and combine your fish to emerge as the victor.
