About this board game
Senshi is a strategy game for 2–4 players that takes about 20 minutes to play. As warrior-monks training at a temple, players compete to become the next master by developing strength, agility, wisdom, and honor.
Each attribute is represented by a stack of tiles. Your goal is to build your abilities while watching the other players closely, looking for opportunities to exploit their weaknesses. A true master must be strong across all four attributes, with no area left weak.
On each turn, choose one of three actions:
- Study: Take stacks of tiles.
- Train: Take a single tile from any stack.
- Test: Score tiles when the timing is right.
These simple choices create a tense battle of wits. Studying can help you gather strength, while training lets you refine the stacks available to you. Testing is a crucial decision: score too soon and you may miss a better opportunity, but wait too long and an opponent may take advantage of the situation.
At the end of Senshi, compare your scoring piles. The player with the shortest scoring pile is eliminated first, and then the player with the tallest scoring pile in any of the four attributes wins. Success depends on balancing your development, timing your actions, and carefully tracking your opponents’ moves.
With its focused turn structure and four competing attributes, Senshi offers a compact contest of planning and observation. Train your mind and body, overcome your fellow students, and earn the honor of becoming the temple’s next master.
