About this expansion

Sentinels of the Multiverse: Ambuscade Villain Character is a villain-character release for 2–5 players, with an approximate play time of 60 minutes. Released in 2012, it introduces a dangerous new opponent with a unique deck and a focused target: the heroes who protect the earth.

Ansel G. Moreau was a world-famous French action movie star with a passion for big game hunting. His search for larger and more threatening prey eventually led him to hunt heroes instead. To pursue that goal, he hired a shady genetics corporation to give him superpowers—but the process went terribly wrong, scarring his million-dollar face and ending his acting career.

The experiment did grant Moreau new energy-manipulation abilities. Taking the name Ambuscade, he combines those powers with a vast arsenal and sets out to track the heroes he considers the most dangerous and powerful. He is described as the world’s most efficient and calculating hunter.

At the top of Ambuscade’s list is Haka, the ageless Maori warrior. In Ambuscade’s eyes, no one else could provide a sufficient challenge to a hunter of his skill and ambition. This rivalry gives the character a clear narrative focus while presenting a distinct villain for the heroes to face.
