Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective: Adventures by Gaslight is a deductive mystery game for 1–6 players, with an approximately 180-minute play time. This supplement requires components from Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective: The Thames Murders & Other Cases to play.

Set in May of 1889, the game challenges you to spend several days examining information and discerning the important details hidden among generally available facts. Can you clear Anny Forster of the charges against her? Where are Amelie Thacker’s porcelain birds, and what is Mycroft’s role in the affair?

No luck is involved: success depends on your mental ability and deductive reasoning. Adventures by Gaslight can be enjoyed with a group of fellow sleuths or as a solo challenge, as you work through the case, its questions, and the available clues.

The supplement includes:

• A 24-page Case Book with rules, daily briefings for each of the five days, questions, the solution, and answers
• A Clue Book containing 143 numbered clues and a clue point listing
• A Newspaper Archive filled with clues, case information, and general Victorian-era material
• A newspaper and postcard that serve as two discovered clues
• An 11-by-17-inch map of Paris, circa 1889

Originally published by Descartes Editeur in 1986 as the third French volume, L’Affaire de l’Oiseau de Papier, it was translated into English in 1988 and became the fourth volume in the English Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective series.
