About this expansion

Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective: The Mansion Murders is a deductive mystery game for 1–6 players, with an approximate play time of 60 minutes. As the first supplement to Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective: The Thames Murders & Other Cases, it challenges you to solve baffling cases through careful investigation and reasoning.

Four mysteries await the attention of your investigative team. Can you determine who killed the wealthy tea magnate Sir Alfred Sipton? Can you uncover a previously unknown chapter in the history of the Maltese Falcon? Other cases ask whether a death at a reunion party was suicide or murder, and whether Sir Harold Hobson’s bookish son poisoned three of his father’s house guests.

  • Investigate the murder of Sir Alfred Sipton.
  • Piece together the hidden history of the Maltese Falcon.
  • Determine what happened at Watson’s old regiment reunion.
  • Examine the suspected poisonings at Sir Harold Hobson’s gathering.

The game focuses on your ability to discern important details from generally available information. There is no luck involved, so progress depends entirely on your mental ability, interpretation, and deductive reasoning.

Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective: The Mansion Murders can be enjoyed as a group challenge with fellow sleuths or as a test of your skills by yourself. Two releases apparently exist: one requiring the original game and another that is complete and standalone. The version requiring the original game does not include the 24-by-28-inch map of Holmes’ London or the London Directory.
