About this board game

Silicon Valley is a board game for 1–4 players that takes about 90 minutes, putting budding entrepreneurs in a race to have their startup company valued at $1 billion first.

Players build products by creating patterns with polyominoes. The nature of each product is determined by the pattern you construct, giving your startup a way to develop ideas and bring them to market.

Once products reach the market, they generate income—but your competitors can copy them and claim part of that money for themselves. They can refine your ideas to steal market share, turning every successful product into a potential opportunity for rival companies.

  • Hire and fire staff to shape your startup company.
  • Create products using patterns built with polyominoes.
  • Put products on the market to gain income.
  • Acquire funding and seek investors.
  • Expand your headquarters while trying to avoid bankruptcy.

Managing your growing company requires more than launching products. You must balance funding, staffing, investors, headquarters expansion, and the risk of bankruptcy while working toward the valuation that can secure victory.

Silicon Valley supports competition among up to four players and also includes a challenging, innovative solo mode. Whether you are competing against other entrepreneurs or testing your company-building skills alone, the goal remains the same: become the first startup to reach a $1 billion valuation.
