About this expansion

Skytear: Winterdeep is a board game for 2–4 players with a playing time of 45 minutes, released in 2020. Its story unfolds around the pact of Winterdeep, a declaration of unity between Grialth and Xotlan, signed in Skytear-infused blood and written on animal skins.

The first sign of this united army is Vorhild, the White Shade. Armed with a magic bow gifted by Taulot’s champions, she strikes silently from afar. Her ermine companions swarm around the prey she has chosen, adding an eerie presence to her arrival.

At the same time, an ancient power has returned. Nantaca, the Monarch Unliving, has been awakened from her overgrown tomb. Her return calls both the living and the dead to her side as her followers await her commands.

• Winterdeep pact: Grialth and Xotlan stand united through a blood-signed agreement.
• Vorhild: A distant attacker wielding a magical bow and accompanied by ermine friends.
• Nantaca: An ancient queen restored from her tomb, commanding living and undead followers.

With its contrast between silent ranged magic, animal companions, ancient burial grounds, and an awakened undead monarch, Skytear: Winterdeep presents a vivid fantasy setting for its 2–4 players. The game’s central tale brings together a newly formed alliance and an old ruler whose return changes the balance of the story.
