About this board game
Space Cadets: Away Missions is a cooperative, scenario-based tactical action game for 1–6 players, with sessions lasting about 120 minutes. Set during humanity’s Golden Age of space exploration, it casts players as adventurous spacemen serving in the Rocket Patrol.
Humanity’s frontier colonies are under attack, families have been abducted, and mysterious extraterrestrials threaten the survivors. Players explore UFOs, rocket ships, space stations, and other alien environments while fighting to rescue captives, stop invasions, and push the aggressors back into space.
Each spaceman has three action points per turn. Use them to fire atomic rifles, analyze exotic equipment, subdue hostile creatures such as the Brain-in-a-Jar, and pursue other objectives. After the players act, the aliens follow simple movement and combat protocols, bringing their own relentless pressure to every mission.
- Cooperative play: Coordinate tactical plans and rely on teamwork to survive.
- Twenty linked scenarios: Follow a campaign story with changing challenges and enemy combinations.
- Seven alien types: Face threats ranging from repulsive mind leeches to rampaging titanic sentinels.
- Modular environments: Arrange hexagonal map tiles to create flying saucers, rocket ships, space stations, and more.
Acquiring alien technology can help the Rocket Patrol take the fight to the invaders, but success also depends on careful cooperation and good dice. With its linked missions and science-fiction setting, Space Cadets: Away Missions delivers a campaign of exploration, rescue, and desperate battles against an alien menace.
