About this board game

Space Cadets: Dice Duel is a real-time team-versus-team starship combat game for 4–8 players, with battles lasting about 30 minutes.

Players divide into two teams, with each team operating a spaceship and sharing victory or defeat. There are no turns: everyone acts as quickly as possible, coordinating their stations while the battle unfolds continuously.

Each ship has six Bridge Stations, and players take responsibility for one or more of them—or serve as the Captain, coordinating the crew. Dice rolling drives the action as the crew generates power, maneuvers, acquires targets, prepares weapons, and responds to sudden threats.

  • Engineering: generates power for the other stations.
  • Helm: moves the ship around the map.
  • Weapons: loads torpedo tubes for attacks.
  • Sensors: locks onto enemies and uses jammers to disrupt their targeting.
  • Shields: protects the ship from incoming torpedoes.
  • Tractor Beams: captures powerful crystals, moves the enemy ship, and launches mines.

Communication and timing are essential. A plan to close the distance and fire can unravel instantly when an opponent uses a crystal warp, attacks from an unexpected direction, or forces your crew to redirect shields and weapons.

The battle ends when one side destroys the opposing ship by inflicting four points of damage with torpedoes or mines. In Space Cadets: Dice Duel, quick decisions, coordinated roles, and efficient dice rolling can make the difference between a decisive strike and a frantic fight to escape.
