About this board game

Space Kraken is a rogue-like science-fiction dungeon crawler for 1–4 players, with a play time of about 300 minutes. Released in 2023, it offers a solo experience alongside an asymmetric multiplayer mode for up to four players.

Build your crew and guide them through a strange adventure filled with aliens, quests, mysteries, and dangerous space flights. Plan your routes, discover worlds never before discovered by humans, and become involved in different types of space combat as you explore the dark systems of the Space Kraken.

• Recruit and develop a crew: Set up your team, equip its members, and level them up.
• Upgrade your spaceship: Claim what you can procure during your adventure to improve your vessel.
• Explore and fight: Plan space flights, uncover unknown worlds, and contend with various enemies.
• Follow unfolding storylines: Experience parallel developments guided by the Crypted Game Master.

The Crypted Game Master, or CGM, uses scripted printed CGM Sheets to guide the story and administer secret events. These hidden developments can take place without you seeing what the events have prepared, creating a distinctive way to handle unfolding surprises.

At two players, Space Kraken is purely cooperative. With three players, one player might or might not share the same objectives as the others, while four players turns the game into a one-versus-many experience. It is designed for fans of RPGs, science fiction, and tactical games who want to assemble a crew, escape Earth, and uncover the mysteries of deep space.
