About this board game

Spot it! is a fast pattern-recognition game for 2–8 players that plays in about 15 minutes. First released in 2009, it challenges players to find the single image shared by two cards.

In the original game, each card features eight different symbols, with symbols appearing in varying sizes from card to card. The key rule is simple: any two cards have exactly one symbol in common. Players must scan the cards quickly and identify that match before their opponents do.

One basic format begins by revealing a card and then another. Whoever spots the common symbol first claims the first card, after which another card is revealed for the search to continue. When the 55-card deck runs out, the player who has collected the most cards wins.

The rules also include several different observation games, each adding a speed element while changing how cards are gained or discarded. Depending on the format, finding a match can help a player collect cards or get rid of them.

Spot it! is sold as Spot it! in the USA and Dobble in Europe, with slight differences between the editions. Some versions also contain fewer cards and fewer symbols per card, such as Spot it! 1,2,3, which has 30 cards with six symbols each.
