About this expansion
Star Trek: Expeditions – Expansion Set is an expansion for the cooperative Star Trek: Expeditions board game, supporting 1–5 players and adding a fifth player option to its 60-minute game experience.
Based on characters from J.J. Abrams’ 2009 Star Trek movie, this set introduces three new crew members to the game. Each one comes with a dedicated character card and brings distinctive talents and skills to the Away Team.
- Chief Engineer Montgomery Scott
- Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu
- Ensign Pavel Chekov
These additional crew members create more avenues of gameplay within the cooperative experience. Their unique abilities expand the range of characters available to the team, giving players more options when forming their Away Team.
The expansion also increases the player count from the original experience by allowing a fifth player to join the table. With the Away Team growing by one, groups of up to five can take part together in the game’s cooperative challenges.
Released in 2012, Star Trek: Expeditions – Expansion Set is designed to supplement Reiner Knizia’s acclaimed cooperative board game with new character cards, additional crew members, and expanded player support. It adds Scotty, Sulu, and Chekov while preserving the central focus on working together as a Star Trek Away Team.
