About this board game
Starfire II is a space game for 2–3 players with an approximately 30-minute playing time, released in 1980.
Originally created as the first expansion for the pocket game Starfire, it was also designed to work as a standalone game. Starfire II includes the rules for the Starfire system, making the game a self-contained entry in the series.
The game builds on the rules of the first edition of Starfire and adds new elements to that foundation. Its additions include various ship systems and space fighters, expanding the range of features represented in play.
- Designed for 2–3 players
- Approximately 30 minutes of play time
- Includes the rules for the Starfire system
- Adds ship systems and space fighters
Starfire II does not include full ship construction rules. This sets it apart from a version that would provide complete ship-building instructions, while preserving its connection to the original Starfire rules.
As both an expansion and a standalone release, Starfire II occupies a distinctive place in the Starfire line. It was later re-implemented by Starfire 2nd Edition, linking this 1980 release to the subsequent edition of the system.
