About this board game

Stars of Akarios is a narrative-driven, cooperative campaign game for 1–4 players, with sessions lasting about 120 minutes. Set in the Akarios Galaxy, it combines epic space combat, hostile-world exploration, space travel, and character progression in one science-fiction adventure.

You and your fellow cadets are close to completing your pilot training when an unknown enemy attacks your home planet of Medellia. Fighting alongside the war hero Captain Soma and her ship, the Sparrow, you must defend your people while searching for a new home. Step out of your fighters to investigate dangerous worlds and ships, using your pilots’ skills to overcome the challenges ahead.

As you explore, manage your ship’s limited resources and decide how far to push your expedition. You can continue even after supplies run out, but doing so may leave you at a disadvantage in your next encounter. Every success, failure, and decision contributes to a branching story presented through a 200-page, choose-your-own-adventure scenario book.

• Space combat: Fight through encounters and test your pilots against unknown enemies.

• Progression: Develop unique pilot abilities and skill trees as the campaign unfolds.
• Customization: Equip ships with weapons, engines, technology, co-pilots, and abilities.

Eight pilots each have a unique progression pad and skill set. Four are available at the campaign’s beginning, while the others can be unlocked through your choices. Ten pilot ships offer different abilities and classes, with ship class determining which upgrades they can equip.

With more than 55 weapon cards, 55 engine cards, 55 tech cards, and additional co-pilots and abilities, Stars of Akarios gives you many ways to customize your crew and ship. Multiple play-throughs reveal more of the Akarios Galaxy and the consequences of your decisions.
