About this board game

Submarine is a tactical World War II submarine-warfare wargame for 1–6 players, with sessions lasting about 180 minutes. One player commands a submarine, while the other players take the roles of escort and/or convoy commanders.

Stealth and hidden movement are central to play. The submarine’s location is kept secret as the submarine player plots movement for the submarine and any torpedoes. Meanwhile, escort and convoy players move their ships openly on the board, searching for signs of the concealed threat.

When the submarine is sighted or detected by Sonar/Asdic, it is placed in full view on the map board. This creates a clear shift from concealed maneuvering to open tactical action, while keeping detection systems at the heart of the game’s submarine-hunting operations.
