About this expansion

Talisman (Revised 4th Edition): The Harbinger Expansion is an expansion for 2–6 players, released in 2015, in which a prophecy of seven Omens threatens to bring about the end of the world.

As dire signs fill the skies, the Harbinger wanders through the realm, foretelling an approaching catastrophe. Demons roam the countryside, plagues ravage civilization, and cursed followers and demon horsemen may threaten those who cross his path. Encountering the Harbinger can offer help, a glimpse into the future, or a dangerous consequence.

The expansion introduces four unique Omen decks, each representing a different downfall. The constellations may align and endanger magic, the dead may rise against the living, or judgement may arrive with war, famine, death, plagues, and other destruction. A fourth Omen deck causes the world itself to break apart and its terrain to transform unpredictably.

  • Harbinger deck: When the Harbinger is in your region, draw from this peril-filled deck instead of that region’s normal Adventure deck whenever instructed to draw cards.
  • Changing terrain: New Terrain cards can replace fields with barrens, deserts with floodlands, and cities with bogs.
  • Unpredictable encounters: Drawing an Event moves the Harbinger into your space, while entering his space requires a die roll with potentially helpful or harmful results.

A roll might grant you a second turn or let you inspect the top three cards of any deck. It could also populate your space with enemies, followers, and events—or discard the current Omen and hasten the next stage of the apocalypse.

In Talisman (Revised 4th Edition): The Harbinger Expansion, the realm grows increasingly hostile as Omens appear and the seventh brings the end times ever closer.
