About this board game
Tank Chess is a two-player, diceless strategic game with an approximately 50-minute play time, reimagining the classic spirit of chess through modern armored warfare.
Players command a varied force across square boards of different sizes. The objective is to either break through enemy lines and destroy the opposing Command Tank, or guide your own Command Tank safely to the opposite side of the board to escape.
Every maneuver matters. Units have different movement speeds, while armor is strongest at the front and weakest at the rear. Piece orientation, armor thickness, and long-range firing arcs create a tactical battle in which carefully planned flanking attacks can be decisive.
- Light, Medium, and Heavy Tanks bring distinct battlefield roles.
- Tank Destroyers and Heavy Mortars expand the available tactical options.
- Obstacles and terrain block lines of sight and shape movement.
- Destroyed vehicles leave behind permanent rubble, changing the board as the battle continues.
Because rubble alters the battlefield and obstacles affect visibility, each match develops its own tactical geography. Players must constantly balance positioning, protection, movement, and attack angles rather than relying on chance.
With its combination of chess-inspired objectives and modern armored combat concepts, Tank Chess offers a focused contest of maneuver and battlefield planning. Its changing terrain and specialized forces make every engagement a test of timing, orientation, and strategic judgment.
