About this board game
The Big Taboo is a word-guessing party game for 4 players, designed for a 60-minute play session. It combines the familiar principles of traditional Taboo with oral tests, mime, drawing, and additional challenges.
Race against the timer to help your team guess as many words as possible. The challenge changes from round to round, requiring players to communicate in different ways while their teammates work to identify the answers.
- Drawing: communicate the guess word through pictures.
- Limited description: explain the word using as few words as possible.
- Classic Taboo: play with the familiar Taboo-style approach.
- Bendy Bob: twist the play style to help your team guess.
The game also includes a brain-bending memory round, adding another layer to the mix. With its combination of spoken clues, physical performance, drawing, and memory, each challenge offers a different way to approach word guessing.
Following in the footsteps of Cranium, The Big Taboo expands the basic concept of the original Taboo with extra mechanics and multiple variants. It retains the central race against the clock while encouraging teams to adapt their communication from one test to the next.
Whether players are describing, drawing, miming, or tackling the memory challenge, The Big Taboo is built around quick thinking and team guessing. Its four distinct ways to play give the classic formula a broader range of challenges within a single game.
