About this board game

The Godfather: A New Don is an area control board game for 3–6 players, with play lasting around 45 minutes. Set in 1950s New York, it puts each player in control of a major mafia family competing to become the new kingpin of the criminal world.

Each round, players roll their individual pools of dice and decide which area of the city to focus on capturing. The game’s unique dice mechanisms give every roll multiple possible uses, allowing players to make meaningful decisions rather than simply being at the mercy of luck.

  • Compete for control of areas across 1950s New York.
  • Roll individual dice pools and choose how to use the results.
  • React to the Don’s offers and the changing balance of power.
  • Race toward becoming the next Don while rival families advance.

The current Don can make players an offer they can’t refuse, stealing dice from their limited supplies. This action can change the immediate contest while also affecting the game’s larger power struggle.

Every stolen die moves other players up the ladder toward taking over as Don, so staying on top is difficult. As dice are shaken and supplies change, the tension rises and each decision becomes more important.

With several ways to use every die rolled, The Godfather: A New Don combines tactical choice, shifting area control, and direct rivalry. Use your results carefully, pressure opposing families, and make them beg for mercy as you pursue control of the criminal world.
