About this board game
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Deck-Building Game is a deck-building game for 2–5 players that plays in about 45 minutes. Each player takes the role of a member of the Company on the long, treacherous path to Lonely Mountain.
Choose Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf the Grey, Thorin Oakenshield, or another hero, then begin with a personal basic deck of ten cards. Draw five cards each turn and use Power as currency to acquire stronger cards from the central five-card Path.
The Path changes as new cards become available, keeping five face-up choices in front of the players. Shape your deck into an effective engine while following the strategy suggested by your Hero card—or break away and pursue a plan of your own.

Once you have gathered enough Power, you can challenge an Archenemy. Defeating one may let you acquire Loot cards, such as Sting, Orcrist, or Glamdring after taking on a Troll, while The Goblin King can provide maneuvers connected to escaping the Misty Mountains.
Azog is the final Archenemy, and he has unfinished business. At the end of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Deck-Building Game, the player with the most Victory Points from the cards in their deck wins.
