About this expansion

The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game – The Wastes of Eriador is a 2015 scenario for 1–2 players with an approximately 60-minute play time.

Following immediately after the events of The Lost Realm deluxe expansion, this adventure sends Middle-earth’s heroes into the North. Their mission is urgent: rescue a captive Ranger before the enemies who seized him can disappear into the wilds.

The journey begins among the lands watched over by the noble Dúnedain, who have guarded simple folk from the evils lingering in and around Carn Dûm. Although the Witch-king of Angmar was defeated centuries ago, the shadow of his rule still stretches across the region.

As you follow the trail of the Ranger’s captors, the pursuit carries you ever northward and deeper into the hills of Angmar. The landscape grows more threatening as daylight fades, and the sound of howling wolves raises a grim question: will your party remain the hunters, or become the hunted?

The Wastes of Eriador brings a focused Middle-earth rescue mission shaped by danger, pursuit, and a foreboding setting. It connects the continuing story of the game to the troubled history of the North, where the Dúnedain stand between ordinary people and the evils that still endure.
