About this expansion

The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game – The Dunland Trap is a 2014 card game for 1–2 players, with an approximate play time of 60 minutes. It begins the Ring-maker cycle and places Middle-earth’s heroes in a desperate struggle against angry bands of militant Dunlendings.

Following the work begun in The Voice of Isengard deluxe expansion, the heroes aid Saruman the White as they seek a rare victory for the forces of good. Their path is filled with new perils, and survival depends on battling through waves of ferocious Dunlendings while fighting their way to freedom.

The Dunland Trap features a combat-heavy scenario that brings the threat of the Dunlendings to the forefront. Alongside this new challenge, the 60-card expansion adds a new Silvan hero and three copies of each player card, offering fresh ways to shape and surprise your Silvan decks.

  • A new scenario focused on combat and escape
  • A new Silvan hero
  • Three copies of each player card
  • Additional support for the Mount trait
  • Further use of the Time X and Doomed X mechanisms
  • Thematic ties to Saruman and the White Council

With its Dunlending conflict, Silvan-focused cards, and continued support for themes introduced in The Voice of Isengard, The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game – The Dunland Trap expands the campaign with a scenario built around pressure, combat, and the struggle to escape.
